Richmond, VA -- The Virginia Council on Economic Education (VCEE) is pleased to announce a two-year partnership with independent investment firm, Anderson & Strudwick, to sponsor InvestWrite, a segment of the popular Stock Market Game™ program .
InvestWrite is an innovative essay-writing competition that raises student awareness of the importance of prudent investing. Students in grades K-12 apply their knowledge of math, language arts and business to actual saving and investment principles while creating their essays. Essay topics might include: the meaning of a stock and a company; the benefits and risks of owning a stock; or the benefits of saving and investing.
“ We count it a privilege to be able to sponsor a program that helps educate young people about the importance of wise investing,” said Brian Regrut, Anderson & Strudwick’s Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications. “The InvestWrite program is an excellent way for students to research the answers to tough questions about money and the economy.
;Our hope is that they will then apply this knowledge of the stock market and economy throughout their lives, ” said Regrut, “and pass on what they learn to their friends and family.”
The InvestWrite competition is a statewide competition for students who have participated in the Stock Market Game™ program. The top ten essays for each division are recognized nationally. Students may receive prizes for winning essays, including a chance at a $10,000 college scholarship.
