RICHMOND, VA: Anderson & Strudwick gained significant expertise in the field of public and private financings with the addition of a team of investment bankers who previously worked at Ferris, Baker Watts (FBW).
Senior Vice President Michael E. Mendelson, and Vice Presidents J. Matthew Carr and Clayton M. Jones, together were involved in over 30 deals during the past three years with FBW that raised in excess of $4 billion. Their expertise is securing financing in America for companies traded on foreign exchanges.
Their work will complement that of other Anderson & Strudwick investment bankers who have been assisting U.S. and foreign companies seeking financing and related services.
Mr. Mendelson served as founder and CEO of a general management and information technology consultancy for which he earned the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2002 before joining FBW in 2005. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Mr. Carr was director of eCommerce and Web Sales for Circuit City before joining FBW in 2007. Prior to that, he held positions in sales, marketing and finance with IBM, Crossroads Systems and Dell Computer. He earned an engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Jones, Vice President, structured and underwrote over $500 million of debt and equity transactions in the energy industry with GE Energy Financial Services before joining FBW in 2006. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. A graduate of The United States Military Academy, Mr. Jones served six years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army, and earned an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
